Vaginal dryness and discomfort resulting from cancer
Vaginal dryness is a common issue that occurs in women who have had or are currently undergoing cancer treatments. It causes pain, discomfort, and can lead to irritation, itching, and a burning sensation.
The above-mentioned symptoms can negatively impact both daily activities and sexual well-being. Dryness reduces sexual pleasure, complicates arousal, and can cause pain during intercourse, leading to a decreased libido and potential emotional stress in relationships. Additionally, vaginal dryness can disrupt the balance of vaginal flora, resulting in an increased risk of vaginal infections.
In women with cancer, vaginal dryness may result from various factors, including the treatments themselves and the hormonal changes that occur as a consequence of cancer treatments.
FemiLift provides relief
FemiLift is employed to aid in the recovery of vaginal health post-cancer treatments. It can help alleviate symptoms such as vaginal dryness, pain during intercourse, and other issues that may arise due to cancer treatments. FemiLift utilizes controlled laser therapy to stimulate and rejuvenate vaginal tissues, thereby enhancing overall vaginal health.
How FemiLift works
FemiLift employs advanced technology to address vaginal concerns. This non-surgical treatment involves the use of a specialized CO2 laser, emitting controlled energy pulses into the vaginal tissue. The laser creates microscopic injuries, stimulating the body’s natural ability to produce new collagen. This results in the tightening and strengthening of vaginal tissue, improving vaginal concerns.
The FemiLift procedure
Our FemiLift procedure is conducted in a comfortable outpatient setting and is known for its minimal discomfort for the patient. Although anesthesia is usually not necessary, we often use a numbing spray at the vaginal entrance, where sensitivity is greatest. Generally, three sessions are required, with a 4-6 week interval between each treatment. To maintain achieved results, we recommend an annual maintenance treatment. The laser beam penetrates approximately 0.5 mm into the vaginal tissue, reaching the skin level where new collagen is produced, without affecting other organs. Vaginal laser treatments have been widely implemented globally, supported by numerous scientific publications affirming its effectiveness.
After the treatment
Immediately following the FemiLift procedure, you can resume your daily activities. However, it is recommended to avoid sexual intercourse (penetration), tampons, pools, or saunas in the first 3 days after treatment.
Results
For the majority of women, noticeable improvement is often observed after the first treatment. Studies indicate that 80-90% of women experiencing symptoms such as burning, dryness, and pain during sexual activity undergo significant improvements or complete relief after a FemiLift treatment.
It’s important to note that the effectiveness of FemiLift may vary depending on the severity of vaginal concerns and individual circumstances. This will be extensively discussed during a consultation. Together, we can assess whether FemiLift is the right treatment and what results can be expected.
